The Cowboy
Yesterday for a special treat we went out to eat at Longhorn. The kids were fascinated by the decor. There were lots of questions about the animal heads hanging on the wall. When we got to our table, Piper noticed some cowboy boots on a shelf. Without hesitation she said (loudly), "Did they kill the man too?" They had killed all the animals so they must of killed the cowboy to get his boots.

Gobbled
My sick little girl had just said, "I wish I could just wake up and this would all be a dream." We then heard a knock on the front door. There was a plate of goodies on our doorstep. We had been GOBBLED! This cute turkey cupcake brought a big smile to my girl's face. She even ate the entire cupcake. Thank you to the family who gobbled us! You made one very sad girl happy!!

Some Fun Pictures
So Much to be Thankful For
I just wanted to take a minute and write a few of the things I am thankful for.
- I am thankful for our six VERY active, fun, loving children we have been blessed with. They love to stay busy which keeps me very busy, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
- I am thankful for the great job I have working at the preschool. I get to be with my three youngest and even have Adaleigh in class with me.
- I am thankful for a husband who is very patient with me and loves me despite my craziness.
- I am thankful for the loving, supportive family I have. They do so much for us. I don't know where we would be without their help.
- I am thankful for a van that has a tv in it. The youngest three spend atleast 2-3 hours in the car every afternoon taking the older three too and from their activities. It sure is nice to put in a movie and give them something to watch.
- I am thankful for the fabulous teachers each of my children have this year. They are all so good and all of my kids are happy!!

Something New
I have patiently (that is the new part...I am never patient) been trying to find bunk beds for the boys and the girls rooms. I check craigslist several times a day. There was finally a posting in Murfreesboro. The beds were brand new delivered 7/19. They were too big for the room they were bought for. The people were selling for $350. I didn't have $350, but thought since it was in Murfreesboro I would go look at it. They lived two minutes from my house. I showed up that night and the man told me they were out back. They were getting ready to store them in their storage shed. He had taken the beds apart and they were still in the original boxes. The lady said if I would take them right then she would sell them to me for $50. The neighbor came over to help load 10 boxes of bunk beds in my van. I was determined to make it fit. Spent the next day assembling the beds, and I think I got a great deal. Still don't understand why she was willing to sell for $50, but I am so grateful. She said she just wanted them to go to someone who could use them. I assured her they would definitely be used and appreciated. I already had mattresses and bedding so it was perfect!! Now if I can just find a deal on a set of white bunk beds!!

Sounds Game
The boys went to the Sounds game the other night. Landon's coaches this year are friends with one of the players, Brett Carroll. He played at MTSU after Coach Kyle. Brett was nice enough to sign baseballs the boys took before the game. After the game, they went out on the field and he gave them baseballs from the game. It was a fun night for them!!

Special Bond
Landon and Logan have been gone with Zack for the past five days. During that time, Mia has been busy with her activities and Adaleigh is usually right by my side. I have enjoyed sitting in the other room listening to these two play for hours. They are so funny! They have laughed, giggled, snuggled on the couch to watch movies (that is a big deal because Piper does not watch movies), played, wrestled, and enjoyed it being just the two of them. For the most part, all of my kids play well together. It is just different when it is just these two though. Hard to explain with words. They are perfect for each other...complete opposites, but it works for them!!

Summer Outfit
Ken Chertow Wrestling Camp
The boys are in Ohio at a wrestling camp with their cousin Trevin. I stole this picture from Jen's blog. Hopefully I will have more to blog about when they get home!
Summer Fun
I am trying to keep some structure and sanity this summer. At the beginning of summer, the kids helped me come up with a daily schedule. It has been working out great so far!! Our mornings and early afternoons are busy doing daily chores, but then we have the later afternoon and evening to do something fun! If every body does all their chores Monday-Thursday, then we have FUN FRIDAY! It is a nice reward for the week. Hopefully this will allow us to keep order in the house, keep the kids brains working, and keep everybody happy!!
Baseball Season
Our baseball season has ended. We had a great season. Logan was the homerun and grand slam hitter. In his first game, Logan got a triple. When he told Uncle Kelly, he told him to hit the ball and run and not stop. He has taken that advice seriously. I believe he has had atleast 1 homerun and/or grand slam every game. The hard part is not passing the players in front of him. Not all of them know to run when the ball is hit...the joys of t-ball!! He played first base most of the time. There were not many balls or runners that got past first base.
Landon had a great season as well. We saw tremendous improvement from last year. His three coaches were guys Zack and I went to school with. It was fun to watch them coach a group of 9 and 10 year olds. Landon was catcher this year and loved it. It was fun watching him too.
Since Landon and B.P. are on the same baseball team, Piper and Cy get to play with Little K. at the ballfield. It is so fun to watch these three play together.
Mia's Dance Recital
Mia LOVES dance and in my opinion is very good (but I don't know anything about dance). She performs in three shows and loves every minute of it. This year her ballet dance was to the Phantom of the Opera. There were three classes in this number. It was one of my favorite dances of the entire show.
I had the privilege of being the backstage mom for two of the shows. I love being back there with the girls. (It has nothing to do with the fact I have control issues and want to make sure everyone is put together just right before they go out on the stage.) I could do without the DRAMA from some of the moms, but for the most part we have alot of fun backstage.
Her tap number was to Star Wars. It was a fun dance!
Good Big Brother
Piper's Dance Recital
We survived Piper's first year of dance and first dance recital. She did a good job; she just really did not enjoy it. It was not long after the recital was over that she took her costume off in the auditorium. She was DONE!!! She has asked every day since when dance starts again, so we will see.
Mother's Day
Training
A few weeks ago Landon started his training in learning how to cut granddaddy's yard. Dad has always kept a perfect yard. It will never be the same after us living in his home. Landon has been doing great with it!! For a few years now he has had big dreams of cutting other people's yards. The kid is always trying to figure out how to make a buck. He can't wait to have his own lawn cutting business during the summers. There is no doubt in my mind he will and will be successful if that is what he wants to do.
Cicadas
The cicadas have now come and gone. The boys ate their fair share while they were here. Logan could not be out done by big brother so he joined in on the fun. Logan had more trouble getting them down but always managed to keep them down. Others around didn't always keep what they had in their stomach down while watching. A kindergarten mom at school will never forgive me.
In fourth grade it became a competition. Landon is just a little competitive. There was only one other student close to him in the number of cicadas eaten, but Landon never let him out do him. Sometimes being competitive is just not a good thing. Another mom at school was ready to take up a collection for the Fowler Family. She had a child in Landon's class and one in Logan's class. When they came home talking about our kids eating cicadas, she told them to share their lunch with them. I tried to tell her it is expensive to feed six kids and when there is free food in the backyard you just can't pass it up!!
