Conversations

One of my favorite things to do is listen to my children have conversations with each other. I do not record them enough and know I will regret that one day. Tonight the boys got home late from wrestling practice and they were hungry. They fixed some bowls of oatmeal and went to the table. I was in the kitchen when I heard the following conversation.

(Logan was very tired and grumpy)

Logan: I hate wrestling practice. It is too much work.
Landon: Logan, that is how we get better.
Logan: But my legs hurt.
Landon: That is a good thing. That means you are going to get stronger.
Logan: What if my legs still hurt tomorrow? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Landon: It is a good thing. In a few days they will stop hurting and you will be stronger.
Logan: okay

Landon is 9!!

I can not believe Landon is 9 years old today! I remember the day he was born just like it was yesterday. Kids don't come much better than Landon. He is a great son, brother, cousin, student, and friend. I feel so very blessed that he was sent to me. He is very tender hearted and wants to please everyone around him. He is a hard worker, a great helper, and has a great smile. I am so grateful for Landon and the sweet spirit he brings into our home. He is a great example to all of us. WE LOVE OUR LANDON!!

Landon before he left early this morning for a wrestling tournament in Franklin.
Showing off his Under Armour sweatshirt that matches daddy's. His friend Adam came to his wrestling tournament in Franklin and is spending the day with us. Landon sporting his new workout shirt and remote control snake granddaddy got him for his birthday.

Wrestling

Landon and Logan have been enjoying wrestling this year. This has been a tough year so far for Landon but hopefully he will continue to work hard and get better. He works hard and tries hard. You can't ask for much more. Logan is just having fun. He is more worried about what snack he can get if he wrestles his hardest. I love wrestling and I am enjoying watching them learn and grow in the sport.

Christmas Gifts

Each Christmas the cousins draw names to see who they will give to for Christmas. This year we decided to do homemade gifts. I didn't do great in following that rule, but my kids got awesome gifts that were perfect for each of them.

Chase gave Landon this snake. If you know Landon, you know he loves animals. He loves this snake that his cousin made him. As Landon said, "My snake is AWESOME!" Chloe gave Mia this watch. Chloe's very talented mother made this watch. Mia had been wanting a watch and absolutely loves it.

Jake gave Logan this cape and a matching mask (I couldn't find it for the picture). Mary Kathryn also made this. It was the highlight of Logan's Christmas. My kids love to wear capes and this was a really cool one!!
Kierstyn made Piper an ABC Book. It is so cute!! Piper loves it and will let you know it is her book. It is a bedtime favorite.

The kids favorite page is U!
Heath gave Cy a memory game. It is no ordinary memory game but it is pictures of all the cousins. This has become a favorite game for the kids. They love trying to find themselves! They laugh and scream every time they turn a card over. There are lots of cousins so their are lots of cards. Meghan spent a long time making this, but it is worth every minute!!

Trevin gave Adaleigh the cutest blanket ever!! Aunt Jen made this blanket and I love it. It has the coolest fabrics, it is the perfect size, and is so soft. This is one I use even if it doesn't match what Adaleigh is wearing.

Well, I totally failed on my end but I sure am glad I have such talented sisters and sisters-in-law.

Christmas 2009

We (the kids and I) had a great Christmas!! (Zack was sick in bed all day.) We did not have to go anywhere!! It was great to open presents in the morning, enjoy breakfast (our traditional sausage casserole that my mom made for us), and play all day. The kids said they got everything they wanted plus more. I did not get many pictures. Without Zack's help, I was not able to help the kids and take pictures. Once I stopped, I got so involved with the kids that I forgot to take any more after everything calmed down. Cy still trying to figure out what is going on.

Piper and her babies!!

Landon got a book he had been wanting to read. I love it that my kids get excited about getting books!!

Logan holding all 180 dinosaurs he got. It really was only 12 but he kept saying he got 180 dinosaurs. He was so excited. He wanted to make sure nobody else got them.

Monograms by McKenzie

These are just a few of the items I have done lately. The market totes have been very popular. I have ordered a polka dot design that will make a very cute Easter basket. Feel free to email me at monogramsbymckenzie@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to place an order. Hopefully I will have a website or blog soon that will have some of my products and pricing.

It has been awhile...

Since I have taken the time to blog. December was a great but very busy month. Once Christmas was over I have been nothing but lazy. I am going to try to get caught up but I am so far behind I will just try to highlight some of what has been happening around here.

Between my annual ornament party, friends moving, and family gatherings we had alot going on in our home. We had atleast one party a week at our home during December. It was a full time job just trying to keep the house clean. Thankfully I have great helpers!!

One of the highlights of the month was my youngest sister, Mary Kathryn, making a surprise visit for my mom's 60th birthday party!

Wrestling season started and both Landon and Logan are wrestling this year! We spend most of our Saturdays at wrestling tournaments.

Thankfully I had lots of monogramming orders in December. I was so busy that I failed to take pictures of most things but will post the ones I have. I look forward to getting this business up and going over the next few months. Hopefully I will have a blog or website soon.

We had a great Christmas despite Zack being very sick and enjoyed spending time with family!!
