Going to Work
One morning Logan came downstairs dressed with shoes in hand. He said, "Mom can you put my shoes on because I have to go to work." I said sure. I put his shoes on and then he asked me to open the door (we have child proof locks on all doors going outside). The other kids looked at me crazy when I opened the door, let him out, and then closed the door. I had no idea what he had planned but I knew he had a plan. A few minutes later I quietly went outside and this is what I found. It was so cute!!! He was just working away at cutting the grass.
Thank You
I have been doing alot of thinking lately (yes, that is about all I have been doing) about people who have influenced my life. There have been lots of people that I have rubbed shoulders with that have taught me alot. Several of the people I have been thinking about I no longer have contact with. These are friends that have lived here but have moved away. Because I am a terrible friend, I don't do a very good job of keeping in touch with anyone. I just wanted to send a thank you to all the amazing people I still have contact with and those I don't (just in case they run across this blog one day). I am grateful for the influence you have had in my life.

Logan's 3rd Birthday
Logan's 3rd birthday was on July 8th. At his request, we started the morning with donuts and ended the night with chocolate cake. He loves sugar and chocolate--just like his mommy. Logan definitely keeps me on my toes. He is the sweetest, best mannered little boy for the most part. Watch out for the other part when he chooses not to be so sweet. We love our Logan!!!

Where Have I Been???
Who knows....??? It has almost been a month since I last posted. I don't even know if I can remember what we have been doing for the last month. I finished up all of my swimming lessons the last week of June. We have been busy with visiting family for the past 2 1/2 weeks. My kids love playing with their cousins so they have had a blast. I did not take a single picture with my camera so I will have to go post at my parents house and use some of their pictures. We had a great 4th of July. We had a parade with the kids and lots of other fun activities. Hopefully I have pictures to post soon

Swimming Lessons
Tonight was our last lesson of my first set of swim lessons for the summer. I started teaching swimming lessons the summer of my 8th grade year. I taught with Nancy Levi. We taught at MTSU and Oakland High School. Once she retired her program I started teaching private lessons and still taught at MTSU occasionally. I taught every summer until the summer of 2002 when Mia was born. I really love teaching swimming lessons.
When Ethan was born, we had Chase, Connor, and Caroline staying with us. Being the crazy person I am, I took my five plus C, C, and C swimming at the YMCA. I decided then that Landon, Mia, Chase, Connor, and Caroline really needed swimming lessons. I didn't know how it would work, but we set the dates and made it work. Our plan was to do the lessons at night when Zack was home and could stay with our three youngest. Zack ended up having to work some late nights and Chase had a few baseball games, so we had to change our plan. I would take Logan, Piper, and Cy to Jen's house. I would put Piper and Cy down for their morning nap and pick up C, C, and C and head to the pool. We met their friend Emily there for swimming lessons. We had a great two weeks of swimming!! All six have turned into little fish. We have made great new friends with E and her parents. They are the sweetest family. I am so glad they could join us. We had a great lesson tonight and then celebrated with a pizza party! Great Job C, L, C, E, M, and C!!!!
Watermelon
My boys love watermelon!! At least they love to eat it. The other day Landon was begging for a watermelon, so we went to the store to buy one. On the way home, Cy starts crying. This was no ordinary cry. It was a serious cry. I turn around and he has his legs straight out and they are shaking and he has huge tears streaming down his face. I could not figure out what happened. Two seconds earlier he was very happy. He finally stopped only to start again when I made my next turn. I began to catch on to what was happening. The watermelon was below his seat on the floor. Every time I turned it rolled a little. He was scared to death of the watermelon. Once we got out of the van he would cry every time he saw it. He happily ate every piece that was cut up and put on his tray, but don't show him the big watermelon.
